As the title says, becoming aware of your multidimensional nature can add a whole new dimension to your perception… literally. The fact that aspects of the self can act, interact, gather information and bring it back to the conscious mind, accounts for much of what we consider extrasensory and intuitive phenomena, as well as various ways that people can connect with each other across time and space. As we perform the work of reintegration, it becomes evident that psychic abilities are not for “special” people — they are natural facets of the human experience, albeit ones that we have often been made to shut down and cut ourselves off from.

Clairvoyance and Clairaudience

I have previously described how, upon the return of a formerly disconnected fragment of myself, I usually get a “download” of that aspect’s memories. In the past this consisted of disjointed dreamlike memories and snips of impressions. As I have consciously arranged to make space within myself for these aspects to “dock” with though, I have been able to achieve increasingly substantial downloads which have contained identifiable information about the aspect in question, and its experiences while non-local and outside my awareness. During the last substantial download, I had deja-vu lasting about ten minutes – “memories” of the immediate future.

In light of these experiences it seems likely that mobile aspects of the self, as well as the nonlinear nature of time, provides a viable explanation for clairvoyant, clairaudient and intuitive phenomena. All that is really required is that a self-aspect travels a short distance up one’s timeline, witnesses a probable event, returns to the conscious mind’s frame of reference in the present, and the conscious mind is able to perceive the relevant information in some form. Depending on how refined one’s senses are, this can account for everything from a simple sense of “knowing” that later proves true, to a full on observation of an event that has yet to occur. Likewise, it also accounts for perception of events that occur in the present, but outside the normal range of one’s physical senses.

Multidimensional Relationships

The ways in which aspects of ourselves travel and connect with others seem to be limited only by our illusion that time and space are any obstacle to making meaningful, mutually verifiable connections. Astral projection is the most well known way to travel nonphysically, but a successful AP only entails the conscious mind getting in on the fun of what the usually unconscious aspects of the Self are up to on a fairly regular basis, with the effect that the travels are remembered. Shared dreams and conscious dreamwalking, the practice of deliberately appearing in someone else’s dreamscape, are another related possibility.

There is a lot of fun phenomena that could fall under the description of “pinging” friends and loved ones, with varying degrees of perception at both ends. If we can’t be with someone physically, we can project our awareness to where they are, and have this be perceived in some form by both parties. We can even send an aspect of ourselves out to prod someone we haven’t heard from in a while to get in touch, and if the willingness is there, and there’s nothing preventing it, there’s a good chance they will. All of this can be done consciously and deliberately, though whether you’re aware of it or not, aspects of ourselves and others, particularly those we are closely connected to, are always interacting. Becoming increasingly conscious of this interaction brings to light a whole new dynamic in our relationships, that would otherwise remain hidden, but no less influential. Understanding and observing how the subconscious mind works, locally and not, makes it increasingly difficult to believe in coincidence.

Developing the nonphysical senses along the lines of opening the flow of energy and information between the conscious mind and non-local aspects of the Self certainly warrants further exploration; this is something I plan on experimenting with much more extensively in the future. If anyone reading has been inspired by this information to do your own exploration, I’d certainly enjoy hearing about the fruit of your efforts! In the meantime, the next and final post in this series will focus on ways you can encourage and facilitate the reintegration of your own fragmented aspects.
